In conjunction with Sight Care Services Ltd., we offer a comprehensive service to local businesses in providing and advising on eye related issues in the workplace.

Safety eyewear

We provide a complete Safety eyewear service, which can be tailored to meet the requirements of employees. The range of protective eyewear includes Plano and prescription spectacles, overspecs and safety goggles.

All the safety spectacles we provide are from a registered ISO 9002 company, are manufactured to BSEN166 (BS2092) standards and carry Kitemark and CE Mark accreditation.

 Display Screen equipment

Following the Display Screen Equipment (DSE) regulations of 1992 employers are required to make available to VDU users an appropriate eye examination.  They should also provide corrective spectacles to those employees needing them specifically for VDU use. It is estimated, however, that only a minority of employees will need corrective appliances.

J M Forss Opticians offers employers special discounted rates for eye examinations and appliances; we can also offer a preliminary screening service in order to ascertain who would benefit from further examination.  Employers can receive a report upon each of their DSE users examined, which enables the employer to maintain records in order to satisfy Health and Safety audits. Stationery covering authorisation and the results of the eye examination are supplied at no cost to the employer.
