NHS
Your eye test will be
covered by the NHS if you fall into one of the categories listed below:
- Under 16 years of age
- Under 19 years and in
full-time education
- Over 60 years
- If you receive one of
the following benefits:
- Income Support or
Family Credit
- Tax Credits and you or
your partner meet the qualifying conditions
- Pension Credit
guarantee credit
- Disability working
allowance up to a certain amount
- Income based
job-seekers allowance
- If you are diabetic
- If you suffer from
glaucoma
- If you are over 40 and
have a brother/sister/parent/child with glaucoma or are diagnosed at
risk of developing glaucoma
- If you require complex
lenses which is a spectacle prescription of over 10 Dioptres.
- The blind and partially
sighted
- If you are named on a
valid HC2 certificate
The government now require
you to bring proof of entitlement when you attend, please bring proof with
you. We are happy to advise you on what paperwork to bring.
You may also be exempt if
you are on a low income, but will have to apply to the health service
using a form HC1, which we are happy to supply you with.
