NHS Optical Vouchers
You are entitled to an
Optical Voucher under the NHS if you fall into one of the categories
listed below:
- Under 16 years of age
- Under 19 years and in
full-time education
- If you receive one of
the following benefits:
- Income support or
Family credit
- Disability working
allowance up to a certain amount
- Income based
job-seekers allowance
- Working families tax
credit at the full rate or reduced by £70 or less
- Disabled person's tax
credit at the full rate or reduced by £70 or less
- Pension Credit
guarantee credit paid on its own or with savings credit
- If you require complex
lenses which is a spectacle prescription of over 10 Dioptres.
- The blind and partially
sighted
- If you are named on a
valid HC2 certificate
The government require you
to provide proof of entitlement when you attend, please bring proof with
you, we will be happy to advise you on what paperwork to bring.
You may also be exempt if
you are on a low income, but will have to apply to the health service
using a form HC1, which we are happy to supply you with.
